Member Spotlight: Colorado Springs Interior Landscape Design Company Vertical Foliage Brings Beauty to Businesses and Homes
“My love for taking care of plants and having them in my life inspired me to start my business,” said Shawn Craft, owner of Vertical Foliage, an interior landscape design and plant maintenance company located at 3609 Austin Bluffs Parkway.
Armed with his bachelor’s degree in landscaping architecture and a passion for environmental conservation and design, Shawn settled in Colorado Springs five years ago to establish Vertical Foliage. The city’s beautiful outdoors and amenities appealed to Shawn to invest in Colorado Springs and call it home. “After a single visit, my wife [Candice] and I fell in love with the city’s stunning landscape, just like so many others,” he says.
Vertical Foliage has flourished, beautifying indoor spaces in businesses and homes across town.
“We provide solutions for building managers and homeowners by installing and caring for indoor spaces,” Shawn says. Vertical Foliage has curated beautiful designs that leave a memorable impression, create a healthy environment, and enhance properties. The company specializes in custom living walls, interior plants, biophilic design, and many others.
This University of Kentucky graduate believes being outdoors can help improve a person’s physical and mental health. Shawn aims to use his skills in biophilic design to make a difference in the community.
“My true passion lies in connecting people with the natural elements often missing in their everyday environments, believing that integrating nature into these spaces can elevate their productivity and well-being,” he says.
Shawn and Candice are invested in Colorado Springs and are passionate about the community’s success. They have led city cleanups, instructional workshops, and free social events to improve the environment and contribute to making Colorado Springs a great place to live.
Vertical Foliage joined the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC in 2022 to get involved in the community and contribute to the region’s prosperity.
Shawn credits the Chamber & EDC with “being instrumental in our business development.” He advises new members to utilize the Chamber & EDC resources and leverage personal relationships built at Chamber events for business referrals.
Through December, Vertical Foliage is offering free wall plants with living art and living wall purchases.
