2018 by the numbers

As you may have guessed, 2018 was a great year for Colorado Springs. The headlines and a booming downtown are measurements of the city’s success, but they only tell part of the story. The numbers are in and highlight what an exciting time it is for the region:

Economic development

  • 1,500+ new jobs
  • $7 million in state incentives to the region
  • $750 million invested in downtown
  • $78K median salary for posted jobs (statewide $55K)

Defense & cybersecurity 

  • $1 billion cybersecurity economic impact in Pikes Peak region
  • 45% military asset and defense economic representation in El Paso County
  • 7.5% of jobs in Colorado attributed to the military

Government affairs

  • 20 active Chamber & EDC positions
  • 12 bills supported (10 passed, 2 postponed indefinitely)

Membership & events

  • 14% growth in membership
  • 1,250 members
  • 100+ events with 8,700+ attendees
