Economic Growth & Industry Expansion
- Since 2022, the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC has closed 31 economic development projects since 2022 across advanced manufacturing, aerospace & defense, cybersecurity, and technology – adding 5,244 well-paying jobs with an average wage of $121,311.39 and generating more than $1.8 billion in capital investment.
- Highlights include:
- Entegris’ Manufacturing Center of Excellence, Colorado’s largest manufacturing project in a decade.
- Microchip’s $880 million expansion, anchoring high-tech job growth in the region.
- Launched a Site Readiness Program to proactively identify and prepare commercial and industrial properties for development—ensuring the region remains competitive and shovel-ready for new investment.
- Created a robust, publicly accessible Sites & Buildings database to support companies and brokers in identifying available properties throughout the region.
- Established a Deal Closing Fund in partnership with the City of Colorado Springs to competitively attract high-wage jobs and catalyze private investment.
Sustained Momentum & Regional
- Launched the Titans of Economic Development council—an initiative supported by more than 80 companies and individuals who raised $5.3 million to accelerate economic growth.
- In both 2023 and 2024, El Paso County led the state in project wins with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT).
Talent & Workforce Initiatives
- Find Your COS, the city’s first-ever talent attraction initiative, launched in 2022 to help employers recruit skilled workers and retain top talent.
- Developed a Talent Resource Inventory – a centralized guide to local programs, partners, and pipelines that support talent recruitment, training, and development.
- Launched Innovate Pikes Peak – a collaboration with Peak Education designed to close the region’s skills gap by connecting students and families with direct career pathways in high-demand industries like aerospace, cybersecurity, and advanced manufacturing.
Advocacy at Every Level
- Championed the voice of Southern Colorado’s business community at the Capitol, engaging on 52 bills during the 2025 legislative session to shape policies that support a strong economy, reduce regulatory burdens, and protect employer interests.
- Supported pro-business legislation that passed, such as tax incentives for employee-owned businesses and the reauthorization of the Advanced Industries Tax Credit.
- Joined a successful lobbying effort to encourage Governor Polis to veto SB25-005, a collective bargaining bill that posed significant cost and compliance risks for employers across Colorado.
- Engaged the Government Affairs Council (GAC) to identify priority issues, influence legislation, and represent diverse industries across the region.
- Played a leading role in the successful effort to retain U.S. Space Command headquarters in Colorado Springs.
- Brought business, civic, and elected leaders together during the annual D.C. Fly-In, strengthening regional advocacy efforts and elevating the voice of the Pikes Peak region on Capitol Hill.
- Championed the extension of the 2C road improvement tax and Pikes Peak RTA, supporting vital infrastructure for business and community.
- Served as the host organization for the Pikes Peak Housing Network, a regional coalition advancing solutions for affordable, accessible housing through cross-sector collaboration, data-driven strategies, and community engagement.
Championing Small Business Through the SBDC
- Since 2023, the Chamber & EDC has served as the host organization for the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
- In 2024, the SBDC hosted 106 educational events and served 674 businesses with 2004 hours of free client sessions and achieved $8Mil of capital infusion.
Where Member Support Becomes Regional Strength
- Provided tailored support, strategic connections, and visibility to more than 1,100 member businesses across the Pikes Peak region, including 189 new businesses in 2024.
- Hosted more than a dozen networking events in 2024, creating meaningful connections and fresh opportunities for businesses of all sizes. Highlights included our Business After Hours series, which brought together 200+ professionals at the November event held at the Air Force Academy’s East Club – one of our most dynamic gatherings of the year.
- Partnered with the SBDC to host 12 interactive lunch and learn In the Mix events in 2024 on topics ranging from talent sources and employee well-being to networking and cyber regulation.
- Provided promotional opportunities to members to be highlighted as Business of the Game / Match through partnerships with the Switchbacks and the Air Force Academy.
- Launched the Chamber & EDC-Endorsed 401(k) Program in 2024 to help members comply with state retirement mandates and offer competitive benefits. This turnkey solution reduces administrative burden, lowers costs, and mitigates legal risk—making it easier for businesses to recruit and retain talent while planning for the future
- Introduced the Chaymber mobile app in 2024, giving members easy, on-the-go access to events, resources, advocacy updates, and networking opportunities—streamlining how businesses stay connected and engaged.
