State of the Outdoors features Colorado’s First Outdoors-Focused Gubernatorial Forum
Colorado gubernatorial candidates will have a first-of-a-kind opportunity to share their perspectives on outdoor recreation opportunities and challenges at the 2018 State of the Outdoors, Thursday, March 15 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Colorado Springs City Auditorium at 221 E. Kiowa Street.
This is second year the annual event designed to elevate the outdoor industry in the Pikes Peak region will be held by the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance and the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC. The evening’s speakers and gubernatorial candidates will cover several outdoor recreation issues including economic impact, influence on health and well-being, public lands access, stewardship and others.
Colorado Springs Business Journal Editor Bryan Grossman will moderate the gubernatorial forum, with questions framed and posed by community and industry leaders. There will be opportunity to visit with candidates following the forum.
The event also celebrates the region’s outdoor businesses, nonprofits, and land management entities through the Outdoor Community Expo, where attendees can connect with outdoor community leaders, peers and volunteers.
The event, which is open to the public, is sponsored by the Colorado Publishing House and Adventures Out West. Tickets for $20 are available at ppora.org.
