Mobius Expands to Colorado Springs, Adding 75 High-Wage Jobs

(Colorado Springs, CO) – The Colorado Springs Chamber & Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that Mobius, an ISO-9001 certified, woman-owned small business specializing in space and missile defense, has selected Colorado Springs for its newest office.

Mobius expects to create 75 net new jobs in Colorado Springs with an average annual wage of $137,000, more than double the average for El Paso County.

“We’re proud to welcome Mobius to Colorado Springs, where their growth will be fueled by a highly skilled workforce and a collaborative business environment,” said Johnna Reeder Kleymeyer, President and CEO of the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC. “The addition of 75 high-paying jobs highlights the strong opportunities our region offers to innovative, mission-focused companies. Mobius’s expansion also reflects the unique strengths of our community – world-class talent, a deep aerospace, defense and cybersecurity ecosystem, and a supportive network of partners that help businesses succeed.”

Headquartered in Alexandria, VA, with an additional office in Huntsville, AL, Mobius provides independent engineering and scientific advisory and assistance services to Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Its expertise spans advanced space-based systems including optical sensors, RADARs, directed energy, kinetic weapons, command and control, and communications systems. The company also brings proven capabilities in satellite constellation and platform design, systems integration, modeling and simulation tool development, program management and operations support, wargames and exercises, and cybersecurity. These capabilities align well with multiple customers in the Colorado Springs area and Mobius is excited to grow within this market.

“We are thrilled to establish a new office in Colorado Springs, strengthening our commitment to the space and missile defense customers we proudly serve. This expansion positions us to support the growing demands of space warfighting and the exciting development of emerging programs like Golden Dome,” said Mobius CEO Melaine Privitera. “Colorado Springs offers a strategic location and vibrant ecosystem that aligns perfectly with our mission and future vision.”

El Paso County administers the Colorado Enterprise Zone (EZ) program, which offers state income tax credits to encourage business investment and job creation in economically distressed areas.  Mobius may be eligible for up to $173,100 in performance-based EZ incentives, contingent upon compliance with all program requirements.

“We are excited about the expansion of Mobius to our region, and we are proud to facilitate performance-based incentives through the Enterprise Zone program,” said Carrie Geitner, Chair of the El Paso County Board of Commissioners. “In El Paso County, we value private sector innovation, responsible governance, and strong public-private partnerships that make our region a place where companies can grow, invest, and thrive.”

Mobius also considered Virginia, Washington, D.C., California and Alabama as other potential locations for this expansion.

To celebrate its expansion, Mobius will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 12, from 4-6 p.m. at the new office at 4775 Centennial Blvd., #112.
