Member Services adds value to ribbon cuttings and ground breakings in 2023

Paint Nail Bar

It’s a Chamber of Commerce tradition to bring a giant pair of scissors to cut the ribbon on your new business or bring our golden shovel to break ground on a new building. In fact, ribbon cuttings are a great tool for business to celebrate a range of big milestones. Some of these include:

  • Opening a new brand, location, or franchise
  • A business anniversary
  • Mergers and acquisitions/partnerships
  • Your one millionth (or one thousandth, 500th) customer
  • Moving into or remodeling a new building
  • Reopening a business under new management
  • Reopening after a devastating event (like a fire)
  • Any change your business wants to introduce to the community.

Our role as the Chamber & EDC is to rally our Ambassadors to help celebrate your big event. The scissors and the shovel make for a great picture, which we’ll post on social media. We’ll even help you promote the event with a sample press release and local media list. In 2023, our ribbon cutting service starts at the Business Advocate level of membership with an annual investment of $1,500. To maximize the publicity that comes with these events and to help position your brand as a market leader, we require 30 days’ notice to adequately prepare for your event in those 30 days, we will provide a ribbon cutting kit that includes the following deliverables:

  • Tailor the ribbon cutting/tying event to meet your business needs, engaging a member of our leadership team to connect and engage your audience.
  • Work with you to plan your event, including a sample media alert with media list and assistance with your invitation list.
  • Provide advice (if needed) on the remarks you might give during the event and document an agenda and outline of talking points for your review and our team’s reference.
  • Market your event on the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC website to create visibility on your brand.
  • Highlight your grand opening in our “News You Can Use,” newsletter circulated to our over 1,200 members that represent a ready and engaged market of 93,000 employees.
  • Send invitations to public officials and Chamber & EDC Ambassadors, in addition to any targeted industries that would be interested in your news.
  • Post-event social media marketing.
