Ribbon Cuttings

Introduce your business or celebrate your growth with a ribbon-cutting. These “grand opening” style events offer exposure to boost your brand. Take photos, pitch the media or offer customer incentives to amplify your business. Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC staff and member ambassadors will help commemorate your business’ big day.

To schedule your exclusive Chamber & EDC member ribbon cutting, complete this form and submit them to [email protected].

  • Requests must be received 14 days in advance.
  • Ceremonies are held Monday through Thursday between 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Avoid holidays or scheduled Chamber & EDC events. We schedule no more than two ribbon cuttings per day to maximize attendance at your event.

Five easy steps for hosting your ribbon-cutting or grand opening ceremony

  1. Submit the form
  2. Spread the word
    • Invite those that helped build or expand your business, including neighboring businesses, existing customers, suppliers and vendors, friends and family, and elected officials:

  3. Promote
    • You can make your event as big or small as you want it – this is your celebration! If you’re looking to attract a lot of attention, consider some of these options for promotion:
      • Send a media alert to local media channels
      • Cash in your member benefits and run a banner ad on our Events Calendar, depending on membership level
      • Utilize paid print, digital, or radio ads
      • Share your invite on the Member Information Center
      • Host drawings or giveaway door prizes, such as certificates or coupons for your business services
      • Provide attendees with promotional items or a grab bag with favors
      • In addition, we’ll post your celebration on our Events Calendar
  4. Event logistics
    • We’re here to support the best event for you and your business. Make it a memorable experience for employees, attendees, and you! Here are some ideas to consider to make it a great experience:
      • Serve light snacks and beverages
      • Offer tours of your new/expanded space to attendees
      • Have a sound system if you’re expecting a larger audience
      • Prepare your speaking remarks ahead of time, and be prepared to answer questions about your operations, history, and business goals

      • We’ll take photos or video to post the Chamber & EDC social media channels
