Kaiser Permanente kicks-off construction at newest Colorado Springs location

COLORADO SPRINGS—On February 25, dozens of Kaiser Permanente executives and local business leaders gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony, marking the beginning of construction on the new Kaiser Permanente Premier medical offices.

The new Premier medical offices will feature the latest in medical technology including a system called Next Generation (NextGen) which offers digital membership cards, self-service kiosks, appointment text notifications, and gives physicians the ability to instantly connect with other health care professionals through video conference for consultation.

“Increasingly, technology is shaping the way patients want to receive their medical care. We’re listening to what our members want and are excited to soon offer this new, NextGen technology at the Premier Medical Offices,” said Mark Reeves, MD, family medicine physician and Kaiser Permanente Southern Colorado market medical director for the Colorado Permanente Medical Group which provides care to the 620,000 Kaiser Permanente members in Colorado. “As a physician, it’s encouraging to know our organization is using this kind of convenient technology to help our medical providers deliver better care to our members.”

The Premier Medical Offices, located at 3920 North Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO, 80907, will open to Kaiser Permanente members in early 2021. This is Kaiser Permanente’s third medical office in Colorado Springs and fifth in southern Colorado.

While specific staffing plans are still in the works, the new 25,000-square-foot Premier Medical Offices will employ more than 40 health care professionals, including twelve primary and specialty care physicians. The new location will offer convenient access to primary care, specialty care, laboratory, pharmacy, and routine medical imaging services.

Premier is part of Kaiser Permanente’s multi-year plan to expand in southern Colorado. Recently the nonprofit health care organization opened new locations in central Colorado Springs and south Pueblo, invested in the expansion of more digital tools to manage patient care, and extended pharmacy hours at all its southern Colorado locations.

“As we continue to grow in southern Colorado, we’re working quickly to expand our services and provide more convenient care to our 61,000 members living in this part of the state. This new location will do just that—making it easier for our members to see a doctor, pick up a prescription, or have blood work done all in the same building,” said Mena Yaft, Kaiser Permanente’s southern Colorado service area administrator. “We’ve been a proud member of the Colorado community for 50 years—this latest medical office serves as a testament to our continued commitment to improving the health of Coloradans for years to come.”
