Boosting Innovation: Spectrum AMT Expands in Colorado Springs

Today, Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that Spectrum Advanced Manufacturing Technologies has selected Colorado Springs, Colorado for expansion. The company creates products that are integral to advanced manufacturing and assembly, and provides quick-turn product development and manufacturing services for aerospace, medical, industrial and commercial marketplaces.

“Colorado is a leader in advanced manufacturing, and Spectrum AMT will create over 100 new good-paying jobs in this important industry. We are thrilled to see Spectrum AMT expand in Colorado Springs and this new investment will help Colorado remain the best place to live, work and do business,” said Governor Polis.

In Colorado Springs, Spectrum AMT will expand its existing facility by 3,000 square feet and add a new 12,000-square-foot building dedicated to manufacturing and assembly spaces.

The company expects to create over 100 net new jobs at an average annual wage of $85,407, which is 135% of the average annual wage in El Paso County. The positions will include marketing and sales, engineers, inspectors, accountants, production associates, administrative support, and technicians.

The Colorado Economic Development Commission approved up to $1,281,974 in a performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit for the company over an eight-year period. These incentives are contingent upon Spectrum AMT, referred to as Project Da Vinci throughout the OEDIT review process, meeting net new job creation and salary requirements.

The Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC facilitated a local incentive package with the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County valued at $275,496.

In addition to Colorado, Spectrum AMT considered Tulsa, Oklahoma for expansion. The company currently has 54 employees, all of whom are in Colorado.
